1/2/2024 0 Comments Deckset for windowsIt’s the kind of program that begs you to save time with it rather than spending hours styling font colors and sizes. Open your favourite text editor, write down your thoughts and Deckset will turn them into beautiful presentations. Personally, I can’t wait to use Deckset for my next presentation. Deckset is a new, simple way to create presentations. Until then, the lack of transitions feels like an odd blank in an otherwise polished app. You indicate a new slide in your text document by typing three dashes (-) I imagine that the app could mix this up a bit to support a few transition styles. Currently, Deckset presents slides discretely, and the app’s export options don’t allow for video creation. One omission I hope to see addressed in future versions is transitions. ![]() The themes are crisp, and the image integration is stunning, while the focus on plain-text editing keeps your mind on facts rather than fonts. It’s designed for the average person who needs to make beautiful slides without the muss and fuss of Keynote or PowerPoint. That said, Deckset clearly isn’t a program for tweakers. This isn’t the end of the world, but it may irritate presentation tweakers who like being able to manually drag and adjust their images. Inline image alignment is also still a little wonky: You insert the media link before or after the line you want it to appear beside, and Deckset has trouble wrapping multiple lines. Write down your thoughts in your favourite text editor, and Deckset will turn them into beautiful presentations. Image and video support is fairly rudimentary, though you do get some neat filtering options to make text overlays easier to read. Some examples of Deckset formatting and slides. Instead of simulating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls on-the-fly' Means that if for example the program would like to call a window handler on Windows, it is directly translated to a window call on POSIX (SteamOS in this case). Deckset’s formatting will be easily familiar to those with Markdown experience, and for those unfamiliar, the app offers a great tutorial-in, of course, slideshow form. That’s because Deckset uses basic Markdown syntax to style your text to your theme. ![]() Though it offers eight beautiful themes for your presentations, the majority of your visual work with Deckset is done outside the app, in your favorite plain-text editor. But unlike Adobe’s iPad creation, this Mac app goes about the task in a very different-and delightful-way.Įach of Deckset’s eight themes offers a number of color variations, allowing you a bit more freedom to play. Like Voice, Unsigned Integer’s $20 Deckset ( Mac App Store link) aims to remove this obstacle while making it easy to create clean, attractive presentations. Where the base map library permits, deck.gl may interleave with 3D map layers to create seamless visualizations. When I chatted with Adobe a few weeks back about the Adobe Voice app, an Adobe engineer noted that the frustrating thing with presentation software such as Keynote or PowerPoint is the sheer amount of customization you feel like you must do before making your very first slide. Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Powerpoint) is an animated presentation software designed by Microsoft and bundled together with Office 365 applications. Heres how it works: Simply drag and drop an image onto the Deckset w. While deck.gl works standalone without a base map, it plays nicely with your favorite base map providers such as Google Maps, Mapbox, ArcGIS and more. You can use both local images and images from the web for your presentation in Deckset. Whether using Vanilla JS or the React interface, it can handle efficient WebGL rendering under heavy data load. We already offer a catalog of proven layers and we have many more in the works. Deck.gl is a WebGL-powered framework for visual exploratory data analysis of large datasets.ĭeck.gl allows complex visualizations to be constructed by composing existing layers, and makes it easy to package and share new visualizations as reusable layers.
